Knowledge Accessibility and Organizational Sustainability of Hospitality Firms in Rivers State, Nigeria.

The study examined the relationship between knowledge accessibility (availability, collaboration and framework, information and system) and organizational sustainability. Hypotheses were developed to test and impact of knowledge accessibility and organizational sustainability, index of economic environmental and social sustainability. Data was collected from 225 of them located in Rivers State, Nigeria. Employing sample size of 225 manager sets of questionnaire were distributed but 208 copies were actually retrieved on knowledge accessibility scorecard and organizational sustainability constructs. 7 of the retrieved copies of questionnaire were unusable. Data were collected and analyzed within the context of the organizational culture. The reliability of the constructs was validated by Cronbach’s Alpha value. Spearman’s Rank Correlation Coefficient (rho) was used to test hypotheses. Results of the Study showed that firm’s Knowledge accessibility dimensions of availability, collaboration and teamwork, information and system, have significant positive relationship with the economic, environmental and social measures of organizational sustainability. The study accordingly concludes that the level of organization’s economic, environmental and social sustainability is severally contingent on the effective application of knowledge accessibility.studyresults provides support to strategy of investment in knowledge and its management for competitive advantage at organizational level of hotels in Rivers State, Nigeria. It is therefore recommended among others, that management of hospitality firms in Rivers State and hotels in particular should place enough premium on its knowledge accessibility, knowledge management, availability, collaboration and teamwork, information and system because they serve as a strategic conveyor belt to the attainment of organizational economic, environmental and social sustainability.References
